Kirkcudbright Swimming Pool
Welcome to Kirkcudbright swimming pool . Opened in 1997 our safe, clean swimming pool measures 20m x 8.5m. The water depth is 0.9m, graduating to maximum depth of 1.5m in the deepest part of the pool.
The staff pride themselves on the high standard of our water quality and the cleanliness of the whole facility Kirkcudbright Swimming Pool We are very much a family pool and love to encourage youngsters, we have lessons all week for the young and not so young. Swimming is the best exercise you can take with no impact injury.
Thanks to the generosity of our local authority under 18 year olds can swim free at Kirkcudbright Swimming Pool every Saturday (exc July & August)
We try to allocate as much time as possible for public swimming (see timetable) and can when conditions allow put a lane rope in for serious swimmers, this is only possible if other users are not inconvenienced.
As well as the pool we have a sauna and fitness suite. These facilities are available during pool opening hours. Certain age/health restrictions do apply, so it's always best to phone before your visit, if you wish to use these facilities.
ACCESS.at Kirkcudbright Swimming Pool
We have designated parking for wheelchair users and ramps with handrails at the entrance. We have changing/shower facilities with access straight onto the poolside. These are equipped with an adjustable height shower bed and a ceiling track hoist. For people who have difficulty with steps, a hoist is available to safely lift swimmers in and out of the water.
AVAILABLE TO HIRE!
Anything you could possibly need for a swim! Swimming costumes, goggles, arm bands, baby rings and towels. It is also possible to purchase swim-nappies for small children, hair drier tokens and toiletries.
To ensure that all our customers are able to enjoy their swim in the way they most prefer, we have sessions which are designated for specific groups of people. These are all shown on the timetable and include; Aquacise, over 50s, adults only, fun -time (large' toys' in the water!) and family time.
- Each child under 4 years old must be accompanied in the water by one adult.
- An adult may accompany two children aged 4 - 7 years.
- Children aged 8 years and over may be unaccompanied.
- These ratios apply regardless of whether or not children are able to swim.
- An adult is considered to be a responsible person over the age of 16.
